Journal #2If I were to choose next year’s theme, it would be “100 Years in the Future”. For this theme, contestants would have to choose three aspects of their lives today, such as education, technology, medicine, fashion, entertainment, or more, and explain how they would be different in 100 years. I would love to see what others predict the future would look like. I think this would be a good theme because it doesn’t require as much outside work as this year’s theme did, it allows for infinite creativity with no wrong answers, and gives the creator the power to show their own personality and creative ideas throughout the website. Everyone would have extremely different, unique takes on the theme, which I think is important in a contest like this, where it is important to stand out. Journal #3Looking back at my essay, I can see the things that I should have done and then expanded on during my presentation. For example, I didn't really talked about the elements of my website like the color scheme, background, etc., but I did when I presented. I would've just added the things that I missed, like explaining what a Prezi is, or add what my previous theme was before I changed it. These things came up more naturally when I was presenting, especially after hearing other's feedback before my own presentation. Journal #4Looking at the presentation spreadsheet is both helpful and frustrating! I love that I have some feedback and things to improve on for my next presentation, but looking back on it now and seeing that I could have done so much better by just changing a few things. If I had just said, "I play volleyball, basketball, and softball", that would have eliminated the majority of my questions! Also, seeing that I was saying "like" and "um", fidgeting, and not making eye contact with everyone just proves that my presentation skills aren't as great as I thought they were. I wish I had more opportunities to present, because I have only given about six or seven presentations throughout high school, and even fewer by myself. Journal #5I think the most valuable suggestion that I got throughout the trimester was to tip the Gatorade bottle on my banner sideways. When Eva came in the first time, this was one of her suggestions after we talked about making my banner bigger. I agreed with her that it needed to be bigger, but I was worried about it taking up to much space vertically. That is when she gave me the idea of tipping the bottle sideways. This was an awesome idea because everyone who saw my website encouraged me to make my banner bigger. After I made this change, my website looked a lot better. Journal #6This class was one of the most challenging classes I have ever taken. The amount of hard work, personal investment, creativity, and self-motivation needed to succeed in Web Design is unique only to this class. The best part of this class was that the material was not the most difficult part of this class, but the creativity and innovation that was required in order to use the material in a practical, hands-on setting. This class challenged me because I am usually not very quick to make decisions, and I learned the hard way that it’s much easier to spend a little bit more time to come up with a great idea, rather than come up with a mediocre solution and just go with it. This class was my most challenging class yet, but also my favorite, and I am definitely taking it again next year!

This class has taught me so many valuable skills, but I think the one thing that stands out the most for me is the value of hard work. I work hard outside of this class but this is one thing that hasn't just come easily to me like most other things. I have really seen you far hard work and dedication can get you.
PAGE 2: BEFORE PAGE 3: DURING PAGE 4: EDITING My "before" page is the one I am most proud of. It has the most content, my image map, and my list. My least favorite page is "after" page. There is barely any content, and what is there isn't good. My favorite part of this process is the design and the coding portion. I like trying to solve the problems with my code and change it to display how I want it to. It was hard for me to get everything done in the time frame. I didn't get to do my multimedia, which should have been done. However, in the end, it was really cool to see all of my effort come together.
These edits are pretty easy to use. In the guided edit feature of Photoshop, all you have to do is follow the steps and you can easily get the effect that you are looking for. The filters are also easy to use. You can apply them and undo them until you get the effect that you want. There are also a lot of options for the filters. Here are my three edits:

A pregame meal is a very important part of sports. If you don't have enough energy to fuel yourself, your body will not be able to keep up and perform at the level you want it to. The best things to eat before a game contain lots of carbohydrates and are low in protein and fat. Carbs are stored as energy and used throughout physical activity. Fats and proteins are not as easily digested, so it is best to consume low amounts. Carbs are easier to digest than fats and proteins, so it is best to eat more carbs are less fats and proteins. You also want to eat your pregame meal about two hours before. If you have to eat closer to game time, the best thing to do is eat smaller portions. Here are some examples of good pregame meals: Pasta with tomato sauce Yogurt w/fruit Bagel Turkey sandwich Waffles w/syrup Grilled chicken w/cheese Lots of professional athletes are superstitious about what they eat before games. For example, Derek Jeter used to eat pancakes and an omelet before every game, which is a good pregame meal. Hydration is also a crucial part of pregame nutrition. It is very important to drink fluids before you lose them in order to prevent dehydration. Sports drinks can also be a good source of carbohydrates before a game or activity. PART 2: I will talk about what the dietitian says about eating before athletics PART 3: I will be doing describing what I have eaten before sports and the effects they had on me. PAGE 3: DURING During a long day of athletics, like at a tournament, it is important to keep your energy levels up. The best way to do this is to continue to eat and drink between games. During small breaks, a high-carb small snack will help to keep you fueled while also allowing you to digest it quickly and avoid giving you a stomach ache. Some examples of good between-game snacks would be: pretzels, sports drinks, bananas. If you have more than a two hour break, another pregame meal or bigger snack would be better. PART 2: I will talk about what the dietitian says about eating during athletics PART 3: I will be doing describing what I have eaten between games and the effects they had on me. PAGE 4: AFTER Recovery is one of the most important parts of sports nutrition. While your body needs the proper fuel before activity, it also needs the right nutrients afterwards to be able to replenish anything lost during the event. This is when protein is most important. Carbohydrates are still important after sports, but protein helps to rebuild muscle, which is important to help strengthen muscles. I really like how my index page turned out! The navigation is an awesome feature that I am really proud of. I also love my original picture! The overall aesthetic of my website turned out better than I thought it would. In the future, I think I would put spaces between my paragraphs and change my banner. I don't know how I am going to change it but I am going to get rid of the box around logo. I think I am will make it a different shape because I like the gradient feature in Photoshop and I would like to use it again. Overall, I would rate my website an 8. I really like it, but I know there are still some things that need to be changed in order to make it a 10. My logo has several colors in it, but the main color is red. According to this color website, the color red represents energy, passion, and determination, which are three things that I want to bring to my website! The main hex code I used in the spatula was FD1F1F, but I used the burn and sponge tools, which created darker and lighter areas with different hex codes. I think I want my slogan to be something about making food for yourself or providing for yourself. Maybe "Do it right. Do it yourself." I could also do something like "Fuel yourself. Fuel the day". I took WAY too much time trying to get my lines straight and perfect in the beginning, but then I realized that I was never going to finish, so I had to speed up. Even though I did go faster, the quality of my graphics was still good. I really like the tools for changing colors, especially the burn and smudge tools. I used those tools a lot. My favorite part was shading the eggs, one of my navigation icons. |
