Here's my final evaluation sheet. I wasn't too surprised at my scores because it is common for employers to rate straight fours, but I was kind of surprised that I didn't score any 5's. The comment at the end about my shyness was good for me to see because it validated for me that I did show that I was more comfortable as time went on and that I can work on being more confident sooner. While it is interesting to see a raw survey of my performance at the office, it doesn't mean that much to me. I know that everyone around the office really enjoyed having me there. I was treated with nothing but kindness and respect throughout my internship, and on my last day, they got me a card and a cake and we had a sort of farewell party for me. It was so thoughtful of them! I couldn't have asked for a better placement for the final trimester.

Things are beginning to wrap up at my internship. Everyone around the office keeps asking when my last day is since I keep bringing in papers and cookies and that sort of thing. They are all sad to see me go, which makes me happy that I was appreciated and making a difference there. I am very excited to work there in the summer! As my internship ends, Dave is making me more and more , confident that the job is mine, which is amazing! I was thinking of finding another job this summer, but this one was almost handed to me, and I am very, very grateful for the opportunities I have gotten from this class. I even grabbed an application for my friend for a summer job, so I might get to work with her this summer, too!
This week I continued to shadow the techs and learn more about physical therapy. Monday was very slow, so my coworker Megan and I mostly played sudoku and waited around for patients. On Thursday, it was much busier. I did the normal stuff, like making beds, restocking sheets and pillowcases, and setting up hot packs. I am getting more comfortable doing newer things like getting the heat and cool packs ready for the techs to place on the patients. One of the therapists tried to tell me how to specifically set up one patient, but then realized that I wasn't even a tech! Since my internship is ending, I'm hoping that I will get the summer job more and more, (p.s. to candela: this picture isn't sending but I promise I'll come in tomorrow to show you! also maybe to have you sign some paperwork for me :) |
